Where a kid can be a kid!

I can't believe that my baby is about to turn 5! His birthday isnt until the end of November but we did his party a little early. He had to have it at Chuck E. Cheeses. I was kinda worried about it being too crazy but it was so fun and was the perfect place for my sweet five year old!

I know I say this every year, but I seriously cannot believe Parker will be 5!

He is so fun and has the best personality!
Four was such a fun age...excited to see what a five year old is like!!

Halloween

We had so many activities this year for Halloween...I think it lasted a week, not just one night!

The two cute pirates

I could not believe how much Parker loved this pony, he was not scared at all!

Parker wanted to be Jake from Jake and the Neverland Pirates. I thought he looked just like him! He insisted that his hair HAD. TO. BE black just like Jake's. It really did add something to the costume =)

Parker was very serious this year about getting as much candy as he could. He made sure he filled his bag to. the. top. with candy. He is getting so big and grown up...its hard for this momma!!

Last soccer game

Parker has LOVED soccer! This was the first sport we have signed him up for and he did so well.

We are so proud of him. He has come so far in the short 8 weeks of fall soccer.

His last game was this week. He was very excited about his medal, im sure you cant tell! :)

I know that Parker will not be able to participate in competitive sports as he gets older, but Im so glad we signed him up for soccer. I think he will do it again in the spring...it was such a great thing for him!

Fun at school!

Parker is totally in love with his teacher! Actually he just loves school as a whole...the friends, the routine, his classroom, the kids who sit at his table, recess, he just loves it all!

Last week Parker went on his very first field trip with his class!! They went to the park via SCHOOL BUS!! Oh my, this is all I hear about now.

He got to sit by the window on the way to the park and then on the way back he and his bus buddy switched. He told me that he hugged his buddy on the ride back to school so he could be closer to the window!

This is Parker's playground at school, he is getting pretty darn good at those monkey bars!

Just some pics from my phone of Parker playing after school. We get to play outside now because it has finally cooled down!

This week was spirit week at school and yesterday was hillbilly day. Dennis found an old flannel shirt and cut the sleeves off. I thought he looked hilarious! He also had camo boots with his jeans rolled up. All the teacher told me that they thought he looked like Larry the Cable Guy, ha!!

Just wanted to update on a few fun things going on at school! Next month he gets to ride the bus to the pumpkin patch!! He is already talking about it!

Cardiology update

It's crazy how much life has changed in the last few years. Two years ago I lived from cardiology appointment to cardiology appointment.  And now we just went a whole six months without seeing the cardiologist, we didnt even check a pulse ox during those six months!!! Our life just kind of transitioned after Parker's last heart surgery (which was 1 1/2 years ago, can you believe that!??). We are so blessed and Parker is doing amazing!

We saw our wonderful doctor yesterday. He is so amazing with Parker and Parker just loves going to see him. Everything looked stable. No changes from his last visit and we go back in 6 months! The only change is that we are going to try his medicine in pill form instead of liquid...because he is a big boy =)

When I told him Parker was playing soccer, Dr. Seib sat me down and wanted to discuss my expectation in regards to Parker playing sports. He said he may be able to keep up now but as they get older his endurance will not increase like the other kids. In a year or two when the fields get bigger and the kids can run longer Parker will not be able to participate. I know this but I think that it was good to be reminded and to discuss what my expectations should be. We definitely dont want to make him sit in a corner but we also need to be realistic. The good thing about Parker and what made Dr. Seib more comfortable, is that he limits himself, he will come sit or rest when he is tired. I think golf is in our future...I love golf!! =)

So, Parker is doing great and the cardiology appointment was perfect!

Soccer and Tailgating...pretty great weekend

First of all, look at my big boy....This is is his K4 yearbook picture for the 2012-2013 school year. It is truely unbelievable that he is this old!

Parker started soccer this weekend. They have practice for 30 mintutes and then they have a game. Parker loved practice but he did not love the actual game. He didnt like that everyone has to share one ball during the game. He wanted his own ball to kick in the goal. This is not something I could prepare him for and it was just not a fun time.

He had practice last night and he LOVED it, but he had his own ball. At the end of practice was a short scrimage. He did ok with this "game" but still was sad that he didnt get his own ball. I think it will just take a little while for him to understand the concept. This is his first time to be on a team and play a sport. I am just amazed that he can even play soccer, if you had asked me 2 years ago...I would have said "no way, he will get too tired." I am so proud of him!

Parker went home with Granny and Papa after his soccer game and we went tailgating for the first Razorback game in Little Rock this year. Tailgating in Little Rock is soooo much fun! The entire War Memorial golf course is packed full of cars and tents.

It is one of my favorite things to do during football season!! AND the weather was absolutely perfect the entire weekend!!

The day is full of delicious food, fun and we always see so many friends!

We didn't have tickets to the game, we just tailgated =)

To keep this post happy and up beat, I will just leave it at that and not even mention the outcome of the game.

Still love my Hogs!

Have a great week!

Star of the Week!!

Parker's teacher picks one student each week to be the star of the week. This means they get to help her with everything all week. They also get to pick all of the other helpers when they are busy helping the teacher with something bigger and better.

Well, this week is Parker's week to be star of the week! He has been excited to say the least. We made a poster this weekend that is all about him and his favorite things, this will be displayed all week at the front of the classroom. He also gets to bring something special everyday to show his class! Today he chose his trains and his truck/trailor. Those are his absolute favorite toys right now.

I cant wait to hear all about his day and all the fun things he got to help his teacher do!!

The Official start to my favorite time of year

We had a fun 3-day weekend!

Razorback football season officially began this weekend and that is always a favorite in our house! And it means that fall is here, my favorite time of year! Now the weather needs to cooperate!

On Sunday we went to Hot Springs to spend our last weekend on the lake. Since all of the 4th of July fireworks were cancelled due to the burn ban, a lot of places did Labor Day fireworks!

It is always so nice to go for a boat ride in the evening. Isn't that sunset gorgeous!! The kids loved watching the fireworks from the boat!
We spent some time on the boat but most of the time was spent in the water because of the 100 + temps.
Parker and Tyler (my little brother, Parker's uncle..ha!) are best buddies and had lots of fun swimming this weekend!!

I do love summer and sun, but fall is my favorite time of year and I am so glad it is here!!
Happy Fall Y'all!!
